First Annual conference of the EMEN project
ALDA attended, together with all the project’s partners, the EMEN project conference entitled “Why Migrant Entrepreneurship Matters?” in the Social Impact Lab in Munich on the 23-24 April 2018. Before the public event, the partners met altogether to discuss about the project, the partners’ role, what has been done so far and what the next steps are.

The Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives announces call for proposals for the 2018-2019 projects
For over three decades, Canada has funded modest-scale development assistance projects in over 120 countries through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). The CFLI in the Republic of Moldova supports small projects proposed and implemented by local NGOs and other community-based organizations that address identified needs of local communities.

Promoting good governance at the metropolitan level: ALDA launches the project MEANING
MEANING - Metropolitan Europeans in Active Network, Inducing Novelties in Governance is the name of the new project in which ALDA will actively participate in the next two years. ALDA will be cooperating with Città Metropolitana di Milano and Città Metropolitana di Bari (Italy), Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (Spain), Métropole de Lyon (France), Grad Zagreb (Croatia), Riga City Council (Latvia) and Área Metropolitana do Porto (Portugal) to foster citizens’ participation and good governance at the metropolitan level.

Advocating for reform initiatives in local public finance in Moldova
In 2015, new partnership between Slovak organizations: ZMOS (Association of Towns and Communities of Slovakia) and AKE SR (Association of Municipal Finance Officers of The Slovak Republic) and Moldovan CALM (The Congress of Local Public Authorities of Moldova) was set up with financial support of SR-UNDP partnership. According to the progress report: all project activities (set up for year 2015) were accomplished.

“Balkan regional platform” – Enabling youth participation dialogue for the year to come
The first year of the “Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue” project is coming to an end. Coordinated by ALDA, and implemented by the seven LDAs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo, together with the ALDA Skopje Office from Macedonia, this project aimed on increasing awareness on youth participation, youth activism and the possibilities for young people to create and influence the policies closely related to them.

New €92.5 million EU support to Eastern Partnership
